Commission Form

This page features two forms: an Instructional version for your understanding, and at the bottom, a Blank version you can fill out and email to me.

GUIDELINES

1. Please only provide details that will help me visually represent your character. I don't need paragraphs of lore about them, their weapon, clothes, scars, etc. Just describe all the concrete visual aspects of your character. For anything that isn't concrete, provide inspirations and vibes.

GOOD EXAMPLE"Bingus has a corrupted black scar of an old stab wound in the shape of lightning on his chest, I want it to look necrotic rather than burned."

RATHER THAN: "Ten years ago, Bingus came across an evil Theyan wizard with a Blade of Swag Corruption (...and that's why he has a lightning scar on his chest."

2. Please paste your image references as individual PNG / JPG files in your email or your message, or collect them as an organized Pinterest board. Please do not place the images into a Google Docs file or a PDF or any document in which they are no longer individual image files.

3. Pinterest boards are very helpful, but if you send me ONLY a Pinterest board for all your image references, please organize it. Don't send me one with 100+ images and no guidelines. If you have the ability to narrow down your inspirations to a smaller number, it helps me know in which direction to go. It also helps to make folders inside of your Pinterest board for individual aspects of the character's design, such as clothing, hair, weapons, color palette or vibe, etc.

4. Please label your image references. This is most easily done if you paste the image in your email and caption it, or you can edit the file name so that I know while image you're referring to in the email. Or you can do it your own way -- just make sure I understand it.

GOOD EXAMPLE: "This picture of a scythe below is similar to the kind that Bingus wields, but gray instead. His has the bloody edge and the metal spikes but not the Hello Kitty charm on the end." [Image pasted into email]

RATHER THAN: "I've attached 50 images of many different kinds of scythes and clothes and scythe action poses and people wielding scythes and even more super cool scythes with no explanation for which to reference."

5. Using piccrews, doll makers, and making Sims are great ways to consolidate your ideas in a way that makes it easier for me to reference.
