Terms of Service
Timeline
Please anticipate your complete commission taking anywhere from 3-9 months depending on complexity.
I will give you the month of expected delivery up-front ("Around July") to keep in mind for your calendar. I will send you an update if there are significant delays due to a rush order or other circumstances.
Let me know if you have a deadline, whether it's because you plan to gift the commission for a friend, or you would just be more comfortable with a faster timeline. Deadlines must be a minimum of one month after your payment, and I may negotiate a rush fee.
At any time, you have the right to (within reason):

Check in with me as many times as you want, though unless you explicitly ask for it, this will not make me work faster,

Ask me to move your commission up on the queue,

Ask me to deliver by a reasonable deadline,

Ask me to update you at a reasonable routine

If you find that I'm taking too long, just ask me to move your commission up on the list and kindly request a deadline within reason. Otherwise I will treat your check-ins as just check-ins and continue my work on the timeline we discussed.

I can work with you to remedy any concerns you have about time, but please communicate with me about it before you take action.
Once you are aware of the expected timeline, I will continue working as though we have a shared understanding of it. Unless you negotiate a specific deadline or priority, you accept that stated wait times and queue position are a non-binding estimate.
Unless you ask for it, my communications will be sparse until I have updates for you.

I prefer communication through Discord, as I'm more responsive and quicker to reply on there, but email is fine. Keep in mind that my Gmail has issues with eating my emails sometimes and you may have to send repeats for me to get it. You can ask for my Discord once a payment is made if you don't already have it as my peer.

Please do not take action on PayPal before communicating with me. If you have any problems, I can work with you to remedy them.

Repeated message spamming or attempts to contact me about your commission via unauthorized channels (not Discord or email) may be treated as harassment.

If I promised an update by a certain time (e.g. "I plan to do the sketch by this Friday") and I've missed that loose deadline, please just check in. It's likely that I shuffled events around on my calendar and missed something, and I can make it up to you with quick turn-around.

Alteration Policies
After I receive the initial payment, I’ll work on the commission and send you a WIP ("Work In Progress" photo) of a thumbnailed sketch. Depending on the complexity of the artwork, I may send one or several WIPs.
At the time of the WIP, we will discuss plenty major things, such as the pose or anatomy or design. Here, make sure to tell me about any concerns before it becomes highly laborious to fix as the piece reaches completion.
As I work, I continuously send WIPs. We will have a back-and-forth conversation with feedback and consent on the illustration to best match it with your desired image.
Right before or after finishing the final piece, you can ask me to change a few minor things, such as jewelry, eye color, shading, or cropping.
Refunds and Rights

If I have to cancel for reasons unrelated to the client, a full refund will be issued.

If a commission is canceled due to client request or action/inaction before I’ve begun work, a full refund be issued.

If you changed your mind about the commission and want me to draw something else, I will charge you the difference in price, depending on how far I got into the piece.

No refunds will be issued once I begin working on the piece.

I may negotiate to refund you in installments on a loose timeline, depending on the cost of the commission and my financial hardship at the time.

I reserve the right to immediately terminate the commission process (with appropriate refund) if a client behaves unprofessionally. Inappropriate language, harassment, abuse, threats, etc, will not be tolerated.

If you don’t want me to post your commission on social media or use it as an example, please include a note in the form clarifying this. I will always ask if it is a commission of a real person.

If you want to print the artwork (for personal use), please specify the desired inches / resolution. If the file size is especially large, a service fee may be applied.

Confidentiality
& Credit

You have the right to post the commissioned piece on any of your social media accounts as long as it remains credited towards me (with a link or an @)

Do not use my art commercially or for profit, unless discussed.

Do not remove my watermark.

Do not take credit for my work or trace over my work (unless the tracing is for unpublished art practice, which I’m totally okay with!)

Ask me before editing or modifying my work after completion. Minor filters/effects/cropping/etc. are okay, as long as credit is visible.

If you want to use my art as an icon/signature anywhere, please credit me where appropriate.

No one is permitted under any circumstances to use any part of my artwork, commissioned or not, for non fungible tokens (NFTs). Use of my artwork for any advertising or profits associated with non fungible tokens or cryptocurrency is strictly prohibited.

No one is permitted under any circumstances to use any part of my artwork, commissioned or not, for training AI programs or AI of any kind.

I, as the artist, will pursue legal action should any third party, including the commissioner, go against terms 2, 4, 7, and 8.

For commissions over $200, if you choose, half can be paid up front, and the other half can be paid when I complete the first WIP.
